Inspired by a heartening conversation with his non biological mother about the war between Ukraine and Russian, Gem Silva produced an art piece that illustrates world unity. In the World Peace art, 90% of the materials are unwanted objects found on the construction site of the Google building in Kitchener, Ontario. The stainless-steel display stand and the glass, which originates from a coffee table, were both recovered from the garbage. Finally, Gem Silva used aluminum, one of the most recycled and recyclable materials in use today, to create the frames of all the figures and collaborated with Sasha “KissPink”, a Russian artist that specializes in epoxy resin to achieve the final look.
